Micro-lending service Smava, where HHL alumnus Sebastian Rieschel is a co-founder, announced the opening of a polish offering. After having secured an additional roud of financing last year the team of smava is now putting the mones to use to capture new markets. More info here.
HHL almunus Jochen Klueppel, a general partner at Venture Capital firm Grazia Equity, recently invested into the German Startup of the year statista.de. Statista is a web service that collects and syynthesizes statistics and other data into a usble format. More information on the deal

As Sueddeutsche Zeitung reports, a survey among over 140 experts from the German media landscape showed, that the majority expects increasing investments in new media concepts in the next year.
