Student entrepreneurship initiative accelerate@hhl organized several field trips this past term. They visited Munich Business Schools`s Venture Summit, did company visits and workshops in Hamburg with e.g. eVenture Partners and teamed up with the energy club to visit PVFlex Solar, a solar company foundd from HHL alumnus Erik Theilig.
The start-up mellowball from HHL-alumnus Sebastian Hettlage combines online shopping with social and gaming components. Basically, you "shake the mellowball" and get a new surprise offering every time you do so. To learn more check out this feature on the company on socialcommerce.de.
HHL alumni Sandro Günther and Mario Körösi have teamed up to realize another business idea they created. With werbeboten.de they offer viral marketing opportunities for companies. Basically they recruit students to wear a sponsor´s t-shirt or slogan at high-traffic events. With this approach they enable companies to get visibility with relevant target groups. [...]
The business plan competition winter 2010 ended with a final presentation in front of Jan Borgstädt, Principal at venture capitalist BDMI and Marcel Radzei, Founder and CEO of billigflieger.de. HHL alumnus Deepak Suryanarayanan returned to his homecountry after graduation but carried on the entrepreneurial spirit. He opened up a "serviced apartments" in Coimbatore, India, called "Ethnic Stay". So if you are in the region, consider staying there. More info also in this newspaper article.
Computerbild has tested health portals in Germany and acknowledged that imedo.de, the start-up founded by HHL-graduate Christian Angele, is offering the best services. Mode info here.
Several HHL start-ups have entered the competition for the 2010 competition of the IQ Innovationspreis Mitteldeutschland. Among them are Gollmann Kommissioniersysteme from Daniel Gollmann, wetterschutz.de from Alexander Schlagenhaufer and Stefan Merker, werbeboten.de and netzschaffende.de from Mario Körösi as well as awibra from Sandro Günther. Online loan company smava.de, where HHL alumnus Sebastian Rieschel is a co-founder, won the Innovation Price IT 2010. More info here.
Browsergame-company playnik where HHL-Alumnus Malte Paul is co-founder, was nominated for the prestiguous European Business Award 2010, one of only 25 companies in Germany. More info here and here.
